Meanwhile, the conductive glass wire improves the mechanical properties of the composite grid, strengthens the tensile creep properties of the grid, and prevents plate failure due to expansion deformation in the later stage. With the continuous upgrading of people's demands, lightweight has become the development trend of batteries and an eternal topic in the industry.
Chilwee has collaborated with relevant scientific research institutions to carry out the research and development of lightweight materials for batteries. By combining lightweight materials with corrosion-resistant lead alloy materials, it makes full use of the characteristics of high strength of high-performance lightweight materials and the strong corrosion resistance of lead alloys to manufacture current collectors with high strength and light weight. Moreover, the trace elements in the lead alloy used can prevent the formation of a non-conductive layer at the grid interface (PCL-1 failure mode), significantly reducing the proportion of inactive materials in the battery. The lightweight of the active materials is achieved through the improvement of the active materials. The 4BS crystal seeds are developed as the skeleton of the active materials for the positive electrode to prepare a positive electrode with high porosity and high strength. On the premise of ensuring the cycle life, it avoids the softening of the active materials (PCL-2 failure mode), achieving the lightweight target. For the negative electrode, it takes advantage of the lead-carbon electrodes to improve the utilization rate of the active materials. By utilizing the electrical conductivity and catalytic effect of carbon materials, etc., it improves the sulfation of the negative electrode (PCL-3 failure mode).

As one of the earliest enterprises in China to engage in the research, development and production of long-life power and energy storage technologies, as early as 2009, it overcame the industry's technical bottleneck that restricted the service life of energy storage batteries and successfully developed the "Chilwee" brand series of energy storage batteries with multiple technical patents. In 2009,Chilwee's long-life photovoltaic energy storage battery was successfully applied in Xiamen and widely praised. In 2011,Chilwee took the lead in developing ultra-long-life batteries in China and put them into large-scale production. After being tested by national authoritative institutions, its cycle life far exceeded the domestic counterparts' level. In 2016, based on its profound accumulation and continuous innovation in the field of long-life power and energy storage battery technologies, Chilwee relied on the technologies of Academician Yang Yusheng from the Chinese Academy of Engineering in long-life energy storage batteries, advanced material manufacturing at Chilwee's R&D Center in the United States, fast charging, etc., to develop new long-life power battery technologies. Through innovations in materials, processes and structures, in 2019, a new generation of long-life power batteries successfully came out, with technologies at the leading domestic and world-class levels.

    This technology has the characteristics of high safety, low cost, recyclability, resistance to low temperatures, and long service life. The battery products prepared using this technology not only have a long range but also charge quickly, and their service life is 30%-50% longer than that of traditional power lead-acid batteries. It is worth noting that in this technology, the positive electrode has absorbed the advanced technologies of Japan and the United States and made innovations, solving the problem of positive electrode softening. Currently, the cycle life of the positive electrode has been increased to 3,000 times. For the negative electrode, materials with capacitor carbon and super carbon formula are used to prepare the lead-carbon negative electrode, overcoming the problems of negative electrode sulfidation, high charging voltage and large hydrogen evolution amount. The maximum cycle life can reach 4,500 times.
